A belated post about our trip down the SF Boise River after running the Owyhee for the second time. We had time in Boise before heading for the Gates of Lodore (trip report) and decided to check out the run from Danskin Bridge to Neal Bridge on the SF Boise River below Anderson Dam. I had run this section many years ago, but not at 2,200 cfs (which Eddyflower.com lists as “Crankin”). The first 8-10 miles are a pretty Class II float and then you enter the canyon. Sheer-walled, with no escape until the take-out. Major rapid right at the entrance. Nearly continuous whitewater once committed. No wonder this is a popular run. If you get the chance, run it. It’s FUN!
