RIOS Guatemala – The Preservation of Wild Rivers
An expedition to film and bring attention to endangered rivers becomes a national crisis when angry Mayan villagers kidnap paddlers they’ve mistaken for hydroelectric engineers. This high definition film also includes breathtaking footage of six wild jungle rivers and the best of Guatemala’s cultural and natural attractions.
The movie has also been shown locally in Nevada City, California and Reno, Nevada. Now join everyone at The River Store in Coloma, California for a BBQ and film presentation sponsored by Greg Schwendinger of Mayan White Water. Come hang out with us, we were participants in the trip featured in the movie and support the efforts of RIOS Guatemala. Greg will provide additional information on paddling the rivers in the realm of the Maya.
